Being unstoppable means knowing and confidently owning your story. After all, that’s what makes you unique! So often we want to exude confidence in who we ARE, but we can’t do that if we haven’t taken the time to truly understand the best version of ourselves and learn how to communicate it effectively.
Personal branding is a huge opportunity for you to set yourself apart from your peers. What is personal branding? Well, it is ultimately your reputation & how people remember you. It’s how you carry and represent yourself online, at work, in the classroom, etc. Start taking ownership of your future by focusing on the key steps below to refine your personal brand.
- Know your strengths. What are you good at? Where do you excel? What sets your heart on fire? What personality characteristics have you always wanted to embody? The key isn’t “fake it until you make it;” it’s fake it until you become it. If your personal brand represents the best version of yourself and the person you’ve always wanted to be, it will ultimately become who you are.
- Understand your audience. After fully understanding your strengths, you’ll have those skills as a pool to draw from depending on who you’re interacting with. The strategies you will use to influence different audiences will be different based on what you want to communicate. For example, you may want to portray your leadership and empathy skills when captaining the swim team, but demonstrate your organization & strong communication skills at your job.
- Be Consistent. I can’t stress how important it is to just SHOW UP. Once you’ve started to create your personal brand, showing up consistently with the same message will bring you closer to reaching your dreams!
