The Huston Home Team currently has 6 agents and we are looking to expand that over the next year. WE serve buyers, sellers, investors, custom new build buyers, professional staging for our sellers and property management. We also have an EXCLUSIVE, trademarked program (to the Huston Home Team) that serves seniors and their families. That is our T.A.P. (Transition Assistance Program) program. “Working with people is what I do best. it’s what I love. Putting people first and serving them the way I want to be served is how I do business.” Cheryl
What’s Your Story?
I am one of 4 siblings, We grew up in Clintonville. Our parents divorced when I was 8 years old. My mother faced all of the challenges of being a single parent.
We did not have a car, so we walked or took the bus. Even though life as a child was difficult, I was blessed to have people in my life that loved me and cared for me and made a significant impact on me.

How did you get to where you are today ? ( Realtor , starting your team , to Million dollar realtor )
I started out as a part time assistant for a very busy realtor and decided to get my license when my kids were a little older. After getting licensed, the market was still in a recession and we had to work “short sale listings” to stay busy. We stayed very busy with listing short sales and helped many people through very difficult and challenging times in their lives. Once the market picked back up in 2014, real estate became very busy and the market grew stronger. I started my team back in 2012 and have only grown since then. Finding the people who are like minded, who want to serve their clients and put people first can be a challenge. WE serve buyers, sellers, investors, custom New Build buyers, professional staging for our sellers, and property management. We have had people come and go from the team, and now we have a very strong team that truly believe in serving people and taking care of them and being their advocate. 97% of our business is referral and that is how we have grown to be in the top 3% of all ERA agents nationwide. We believe in “putting people first and money will follow”, so we don’t focus on numbers, we focus on each and every client we serve. I am passionate about what I do. I help people every day make the biggest financial decision of their lives, whether that is buying a home, or selling a home. It is an honor to serve each and every client that I work with. THAT is how I’ve built my business….serving one client at a time and treating people the way I would want to be treated.
What challenges/ obstacles did you face trying to get to where you are today?
I got licensed during the recession and worked MANY short sale listings during that time. Short sale listings are difficult, tedious, and time consuming. You also deal with sellers in very difficult circumstances that are basically selling their home to avoid foreclosure.
On Success: What is your biggest accomplishment to date?
My two wonderful children, Michael and Sara. I love the business that I’ve built from the ground up based on service, integrity, trust.
On Leadership:
Give advice to your younger self… (What do you think is the most significant barrier that is hinders girls from fulfilling their greatest potential and what advice would you give girls trying to get to find their voice?)
I think the biggest hurdle/barrier that hinders girls from fulfilling their greatest potential is they don’t have life spoken over them. They are not encouraged to dream big and go after what they are passionate about.
What motivates you daily?
Loving and serving people. Being an encouragement to people. Being the best version of me that I can be. Serving God and being used by Him to change the lives of people I encounter everyday.
What is a lie society tells young girls? How can girls fight against this?
I believe one of the worst “messages” sent to women is on their body image. Society makes women/young girls feel like there is only ONE “right” or perfect body type (skinny and no curves) and that is just not true! Media can use “real” women with “real” body types and sizes and celebrate ALL body types and sizes.
On Being ‘Unstoppable’: What does being “unstoppable” mean to you?
Persistent. Tenacious. Bold. Courageous. Being courageous even when you’re afraid. Believing in the BEST outcome and pursuing it! Believing in myself to achieve what I have set my mind to and not let anyone or anything deter me. Trusting God with all of my plans and allowing Him to guide me in every decision.
